1.For OEM scan engines, when it’s reading, the White floodlight LED and Red Positioning LED will be on.

1.For OEM Scan Engines, after good decode, the decoding indicator LED pin will output a level signal (drives the LED to light up once, Pin10); the buzzer pin will output a PWM signal (drives BEEP to beep once, Pin9).

  1. 2. For handheld, fixedmount, embedded, and table scanners, after good decode, the decoding indicatorLED (green) will light up once; the buzzer will make a short beep “Di”.

When the parameters are set successfully, the barcode scanner will drive the buzzer to emit a short music (BEEP is driven by multiple PWM signals of different frequencies), as a prompt for successful setting (to distinguish it from the short “beep” sound for good decode ).

When the parameter setting fails, the barcode scanner will drive the buzzer to emit a long beep sound “Du” (a single-frequency PWM signal drives BEEP) as a prompt for fail setting (longer duration and lower frequency to distinguish it from a short “Di” for good decode).

Host Mode it’s one of the trigger modes, through the command to trigger the scan engine to read. Through the command “Start Decode(04 E4 04 00 FF 14)” to start reading and“Stop Decode(04 E5 04 00 FF 13)”to end reading.

 

Start Decode is the command to start scanning (Start Scan).

Reader will enter to read after receiving this command. When a barcode is in the scanning field and is successfully read by the barcode scanner, the scanner will automatically end the scan.

 

Reading time over a single reading time or reading fail will end the reading.

    Stop Decode is the command to stop scanning (Stop Scan). When the reader is in the scanning state, it will exit the scanning state immediately after receiving this command.

 

Therefore, for the barcode reader, the host mode is a passive trigger mode, and the start and stop is controlled by the host command.

In the automatic sensing mode, the barcode reader will detect the brightness of the surrounding environment. When the brightness changes, it will trigger scanning.  Reading success or reading time over a single reading time will end the reading.

Regardless of the success or failure of the previous reading, the bar code reader will re-enter to detect the brightness of the surrounding environment and waits for the next round of triggering.

Therefore, for the barcode reader, the automatic sensing mode is an active trigger mode, and the reader automatically recognizes the environment to determine when to trigger the code reading.

The reading engine performs continuous work. Reading success or reading time over a single reading time will end the reading. More than the specified time, the reader will automatically trigger the next reading.

 

When the barcode is in the scanning area and not removed, the barcode scanner will read continuously and output the decoded data to the host computer.

There are has two key parameters when using the Continuous mode : Duration in scanning and continuous reading interval.

This parameter sets the maximum time decode processing continues during a scan attempt.(Default: 3.0 sec.)

 

The interval time between two readings in continuous mode. Regardless of the last success or failure to read, more than the specified time, the reader will automatically trigger the next reading.

Therefore, for the barcode reader, the continuous mode is an active trigger mode, and the reader automatically and continuously triggers the scan code without stopping.
